Welcome to the Children’s Ark School website. The Children`s Ark School is a Department of Education school in University Hospital Limerick. We cater for the  educational needs of children and young people during their hospital stay. Tá fáilte roimh chách.

School here is always lots of fun! Our teachers are very friendly and we have lots of wonderful resources to help make our learning interesting and fun. We have books, games, puzzles, iPads, coding, robotics and STEM activities, art materials, Lego, science equipment, and even a kitchen if we want to learn how to make a new recipe!

In the classroom you will meet other children, enjoy educational activities such as art, music, literacy, numeracy, science, P.E., I.T. and cooking. As well as these activities, you will have the opportunity to keep up with your own school work and join in with the theme of the week activities.

As a second level student you will have the opportunity to participate in active learning,  continue with your own school work, prepare for exams and even sit your Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle CBAs and exams. We really have it all!

Teachers are on the wards every day (Monday – Friday) during term-time. The school classrooms are open for all inpatients who are well enough to attend and for those who regularly attend the day ward.
